mandya-mysore stretch is full of greenery.. fields on both sides of the road

RoadTrip From Bangalore to Ooty Get into the Bangalore Mysore Express Highway and head towards Mysore. 5 Km b4 mysore you will get a big cross road and take left here. Head towards Ooty. You will hit Nanjangud->Bandipur National Park->Karnatake state ends ->TamilNadu state starts and there is a checkpost where they check for liquor. Once u cross this and are out of Mudumalai forest, you have two choices 1. Road to the left is STEEP and better and shorter(u will save 1 hour drive) and very narrow and and gos thru masinagudi and has 36 hairpin bends 2.The road which goes straight will go thru gudalur , the road is broader , but very bad for driving , curves are not steep There you go , ooty will be waiting for you ... PS: Take a 4WD if u really wanna have fun
